Més Veïnes is a community-based artistic project created by Lisa Marrani and Vera Livia García, supported by Institut de Cultura de Barcelona (ICUB), the Nou Barris District (Feminisms and LGTBI area), Federació d’Associacions de Veïns i Veïnes de Barcelona (FABV), La Cosa Nostra, the Community Action Plan, Grup de Dones, the Can Peguera Neighbours’ Association, the Penya Blaugrana of Can Peguera, and Tronada.

Set in the neighbourhood of Can Peguera, Barcelona, Més Veïnes develops as an intergenerational dialogue that encourages the exchange of practices, images, values, ideas, and lived experiences between two generations of women. Through a plurality of voices, the project weaves a shared narrative that strengthens community ties and reinforces intergenerational connections.

The project gives voice to the women who have silently shaped a history of struggle and resilience through everyday forms of care and domestic labour. By bringing these experiences into a performative context, Més Veïnes highlights the political dimension of women’s work and knowledge — traditionally confined to the private sphere — and reframes them as central to the social fabric of the community.

Through a scenic creation process, Més Veïnes presents a renewed account of the neighbourhood’s past and future, seen through the perspective of its female protagonists and recognising their essential role in the continuity of its history.
