Bangalore – The ISRO, 2023

The artistic residency in Bangalore took place from 13 September to 20 October 2023 at the invitation of the Italian Cultural Institute in Mumbai and The ISRO (The Indian Sonic Research Organisation), a research centre dedicated to sound arts and experimental music.

During the residency, I conducted a personal investigation into the city’s soundscapes, documenting in particular the urban soundscape during the Navratri and Dussehra celebrations. At the same time, I developed a collaborative creative work with dancers Anisha Tavag and Gayatri Shetty and dancer Dinesh Kumar, exploring the relationships between sound, movement and soundscape.

The project also included a workshop on soundscapes at the Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design and Technology, and concluded with the performance Flowing Essence, presented at the Goethe-Institut in Bangalore on 19 October 2023.
