Duration 40 minutes

Aqui no ahora is a multimedia performance freely inspired by the cinematic and dramaturgical aesthetics of David Lynch. It explores the boundary between dream and wakefulness — a territory rich in visions and non-rational thoughts.

The performance experiments with and intertwines multiple expressive languages: dance, theatre, video, cinema, and music.

At its center is a woman who questions her own identity through a journey suspended between the real and the virtual, the dreamlike and the everyday. The body is conceived as a living installation, immersed in a flow of images and sound, and is repeatedly propelled into contrasting, almost schizophrenic emotional dimensions.

The video establishes a conflicted relationship — an anxious exploration, a splitting and denial of possible identities. A symbolic, oneiric game composed of eleven independent micro-performances, conceived as theatrical pieces that are both aesthetically and emotionally distinct, and that can be presented in ever-changing sequences. The work is therefore modular, allowing multiple configurations and adaptation to different and unconventional venues.

Produced by TiConZero, the piece was created during an artistic residency in Montemor-o-Novo (Portugal) in August 2016.
