Treasure Hunt is the result of a compositional research project developed during the artistic residency of Maja Ratkje, Sylvie Courvoisier, and Ikue Mori at the international SIGNAL Festival. Together with Alessandro Olla and Simon Balestrazzi, they charted a musical path that draws on the musicians’ diverse origins, languages, and artistic experiences as creative fuel and as an opportunity for musical adventure.

At the core of the project is each musician’s proposal of a soundscape, offered to the others as if it were a photograph of their own emotional and geographical territory — to be reinvented and reorganized into a new sonic map.

Through play (a treasure hunt), improvisation, the objet trouvé, and photography, a collective journey gradually took shape, traversing a new sonic and perceptual geography.
